Russian team finalizes extremely strong lineup to play Vietnam, bringing PSG's record holder along
Coach Valery Karpin has announced the list of 27 Russian national team players who will come to Vietnam to play a friendly match during FIFA Days in September.
The Russian team is preparing to travel to Vietnam to participate in an international friendly tournament in September. With a high-quality squad and high determination, the Russian players promise to bring an eye-catching match to the Vietnamese audience.
Notably, the list just announced by coach Valery Karpin includes goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. He is PSG's record holder as the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of this team (20 million euros).

Initially, Matvey Safonov's move to Vietnam was highly unlikely. However, right before the final roster deadline, the goalkeeper changed his mind.
Perhaps Safonov wants to find his footing again in the upcoming friendly matches after being benched at PSG. At the Paris club, Safonov is only a reserve goalkeeper for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Besides goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, the Russian team's list also includes other prominent names such as Daler Kuzyaev, Ivan Oblykov... Accordingly, the duo Matvey Safonov and Daler Kuzyaev will fly directly to Vietnam, not gathering in Moscow.
According to the plan, the Russian team will gather from September 1, have some training sessions in Russia. They will fly to Vietnam a few days later by private plane and will compete with the Vietnamese team on September 5 and meet Thailand on September 7.
