Vietnam women's team strengthens physical strength, confident towards World Cup 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnamese women's team is focusing on improving their physical strength and fitness to confidently prepare for the 2023 World Cup.
The Vietnamese women's team is in the final stages of preparation before heading to the 2023 Women's World Cup finals. From now until July 6, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi), with the goal of maximizing physical strength and endurance before reducing the list from 28 to 23 players to New Zealand to compete in the World Cup.
Sharing about the training process in Europe as well as the training period in Vietnam, coach Mai Duc Chung of the Vietnamese women's team said: "With the attention of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), through the European training session, the Vietnamese women's team has achieved very good physical strength and vitality. Indeed, nutrition plays an important role in helping players ensure physical strength and fitness for training and physical fitness. Regarding physical strength allocation towards the 2023 World Cup, we have done this since the training in Germany.

Especially in the match against the German team, the players' physical strength was very good and abundant, no one had cramps or muscle tension. The most typical image is Thanh Nha. Even though she played until the last minute, she still ran very fast. The opposing team's central defender could not catch up. From these things, it can be seen that the physical strength of the Vietnamese women's team has improved a lot.

Even after the match with the German women's team, the next afternoon, we continued to practice speed and maintain endurance... before returning home. Now, when returning to Vietnam, the team continues to implement these training plans to ensure physical fitness for the upcoming World Cup, when Vietnam faces strong opponents such as the US, the Netherlands or Portugal."

Mr. Mai Duc Chung continued: “Regarding increasing endurance, we must have the best training plan, allocating training time scientifically. Women's football does not practice continuously every day. We have to calculate reasonably when to practice, when to compete, and when to rest. In addition, the team both practices professionally and ensures a nutritional regimen for the players. The players themselves also need to maintain their health in different weather conditions, with appropriate living hours. In addition, the team also increases the intake of vitamins, B12, and nutritional foods to ensure physical strength without affecting the issue of doping in sports.”

The team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) before leaving for New Zealand on July 6. In New Zealand, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have a friendly match against New Zealand at 12:30 (Vietnam time) on July 10 at McLean Park. Five days later, the Vietnamese women's team will face the Spanish women's team./.
