(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 21, Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city held a ceremony to receive the Provincial Historical Relic Certificate for Cao Huy Tuan's tomb and Cao Family Temple.
The Cao family in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city originated from the Cao Dai Ton family in Dien Tho commune, Dien Chau district. The ancestor of the family was Mr. Cao Huy Doi, who served as an official under the Le Thanh Tong dynasty.

Mr. Cao Huy Tuan was born in 1849 in Phan Thon village, Nghi Kim commune. He was an intelligent and studious person. He once held the position of district chief of Tran Ninh - Nghe An. On November 13, 1885, in a fierce battle with the French army, he sacrificed his life at Thien Tuong pagoda (now in Ha Tinh) and was buried by General Phan Dinh Phung in Phan Thon village.
Up to now, the Cao family in Nghi Kim commune has 4 generations, forming 4 branches. The Cao family temple was restored in 2009, consisting of a traditional 5-room house with many ancient carvings. The relic still preserves many valuable artifacts of high artistic value.
