Welcoming the delegation from 3 provinces: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang and Bolikhamsai (Laos)

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 16th, Mr. Thai Van Hang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, presided over the reception of a delegation from the People's Committees of three provinces: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamsai, of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, who came to discuss and agree on the policy of organizing a twinning movement between communities (villages) on both sides of the Vietnam-Laos border.

The delegation from Hua Phan province was led by Deputy Governor Vansay Phengsumma; the delegation from Xieng Khouang province was led by Deputy Governor Duongchit Changsayvang; and the delegation from Bolikhamsai province was led by Deputy Governor Khambunnat Xaynhon.

Implementing the Agreements, Treaties, and Regulations on the Vietnam-Laos border region of the two Parties, two States, and two Governments on continuing to innovate and improve the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation, in recent times, the leaders of Nghe An province and the leaders of the three provinces of Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamsai have held many talks and exchanges to discuss and agree on policies and solutions in leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of border construction and protection, and combating and preventing all subversive activities of hostile forces and reactionary elements. Therefore, this has contributed to maintaining border security and territorial integrity, and strengthening the special friendship between the two States of Vietnam and Laos, and between Nghe An province and the three provinces of Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamsai.

To further enhance the effectiveness of coordination in carrying out the tasks of building and protecting border sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, strengthening the close-knit relationship between the two states and two peoples of Vietnam and Laos; and to promote the role and responsibility of grassroots officials and people, especially those in border villages, in protecting border sovereignty and territorial integrity, maintaining political security and social order in border areas, the People's Committee of Nghe An province invites the People's Committees of the three provinces of Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamsai (Laos) to discuss and agree on the policy and organize the signing of an agreement on organizing a twinning movement between communities (villages) on both sides of the Vietnam-Laos border.

According to the work program, on August 17th, in Vinh City, the People's Committee of Nghe An province will hold a meeting with three provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamsai, on "organizing a movement to establish fraternal ties between communities (villages) on both sides of the border".
