"Paving the way" for the wedding procession.

(Baonghean) - More than a week ago, during a visit to some veteran friends in Dien Chau district, I witnessed a "strange event" on National Highway 1A - the section from Dien An commune to Dien Thinh. Around noon, a series of cars traveling from South to North, upon passing through Dien An commune, had to crawl behind a wedding car (a 4-seater) traveling in the same direction, "escorted" by a convoy of motorbikes driven by young men without helmets, carrying 3 or 4 people, swerving and aggressively waving sticks to block the road, preventing any car from passing the wedding car. Not only did they block cars traveling in the same direction, these young men driving motorbikes also lined up across the road, shouting and using firework tubes as sticks to hit the front of oncoming cars, forcing them to pull over to the side of the road so the wedding procession could pass.

The motorcycle with license plate 37-B1-654.41 directly brandished its baton and encroached on the opposite lane along with a group of vehicles (license plates have been enlarged) to block the oncoming convoy of trucks.

Seeing me using my camera to record the scene of motorbikes blocking oncoming passenger buses, a taxi driver said: "This isn't the first time car drivers have encountered this dangerous roadblock! When faced with such reckless individuals, car drivers have no choice but to crawl along the road until these lawless drivers turn into a side road before they can continue driving normally."

Indeed, only after the "escort" group, waving their batons, directed the wedding car to turn left onto the western side road of National Highway 1A (at the beginning of Dien Thinh commune)... were cars on both sides of the road allowed to continue traveling in the correct lane and at the correct speed.

That afternoon, I heard from some veteran friends in Dien Chau that: "This kind of road-blocking has been investigated and punished by the police. However, because these violations occur on roads far from the district center, they are not always detected and prevented in time."
