We returned to Thanh Tien commune (Thanh Chuong) in joy when the commune was just recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards. Entering the 2015 - 2020 term, Thanh Tien still has some contents and criteria on traffic infrastructure, offices, stadiums... that have not been met.

On the basis of clearly identifying the tasks that need to be focused on, the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee met to discuss, focus on collective intelligence, and clearly identify the resources that can be mobilized. In particular, assign specific responsibilities to each organization and individual to directly mobilize resources from the budget, people's contributions, and call on children far from home to support; at the same time, urge each stage and part of the work to complete the proposed contents.

By doing so, in a short time, in addition to directing the construction and putting into use the Health Station and the 2-storey Primary School, Thanh Tien B Kindergarten, the locality has mobilized tens of billions of VND to build more than 12 km of rural roads; build the commune headquarters, expected to be put into use in the first quarter of 2016. The commune stadium alone has a scale of 18,000 m2, including 3 fields for 3 sports: football, volleyball, badminton; the embankment system with a total cost of 5 billion VND is being implemented.

Experience in Thanh Tien is that the Party Committee, the government and the political system are highly determined, have specific ways of doing things and in all matters, cadres and party members must enthusiastically take the lead, then everything will be successful. In addition, Thanh Tien Party Committee also shows the Party's sensitivity to the market economy, the orientation of the Commune Party Committee in the 2015 - 2020 term is to focus on transforming the crop structure, improving productivity, quality and production value. Prioritize the introduction of high-quality, high-yield hybrid rice varieties into production; at the same time, convert some areas of rice cultivation that are not proactive in water to the production of commercial vegetables, including vegetables of all kinds, watermelon, cucumber, squash..., supplying workers of export garment factories located in the commune. Promote livestock farming in the direction of goods and continue to mobilize households with conditions to develop livestock farming in the direction of household farming.

The model of growing mulberry and raising silkworms for commercial purposes brings significant income to people.

The commune Party Committee takes hamlets as specific leadership units to translate those policies and orientations into practical life. In hamlet 2, the Party Committee has chosen to focus on leading and directing people to reduce the area of ​​corn and sweet potato production on fertile land and switch to growing vegetables for the garment factory; at the same time, planting elephant grass to develop Sind crossbred cattle breeding, increasing production value for the people.

Party cell secretary of hamlet 2, Tran Duc Binh, said: Along with the new features in production direction mentioned above, the application of scientific and technical advances in production, improving productivity, quality and production value also continues to be directed by the Party cell. In Party cell 4, the focus is on developing livestock farming according to the household model. According to Party cell secretary, Le Ba Hoan, up to this point, livestock farming is still the spearhead that brings the highest economic efficiency to the people. Each family only needs to raise 1 goat for birth, 2 litters per year, 2 goats per litter; thus, each year there are 4 goats, raising for 4 months with about 15 - 18 kg of goats for sale, also earning approximately 100 million VND/year. Currently, except for some households who are retired cadres, all agricultural households in the hamlet organize livestock farming, of which about 26 households have 2 or more cows for birth, the largest household has 6 cows for birth; 20 households raise 2 or more goats.

In addition, households in the hamlet also raise pigs and chickens to supply the district and Vinh city markets. The Party cell also encourages people to expand their businesses and services. Currently, the hamlet has formed 5 masonry teams with 50 workers participating; 3 unburnt brick production facilities; 3 transportation businesses and a number of households fishing and clam raking on the Giang River.

Many households in Thanh Tien develop effective livestock farming.

Comrade Nguyen Van Loan - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee affirmed: Currently in Thanh Tien, many new economic models in effective cultivation and livestock breeding are continuing to be replicated. Notable models are the model of growing mulberry and raising silkworms; developing herds of goats, cows, pigs, and commercial chickens.

In the commune, the Venture Ha Lan Export Garment Factory project has completed phase I, put into operation, attracting 800 workers and is completing phase II to ensure a total of 2,000 workers. In particular, the road from the district center to the Ban Ve hydropower resettlement area has been expanded, upgraded and Rang bridge has been put into use in the past time, creating conditions and motivation for the service - trade economy in the commune to develop more strongly in the near future.

And when the economy develops, there will be more conditions to take care of cultural and social development in a comprehensive and in-depth manner. Currently, all 3 schools have met national standards level 2 and achieved cultural unit status. The commune is recognized as a national standard commune in health and the commune health station is a cultural unit. The whole commune has 9/13 hamlets and 85% of households achieving cultural title.

Today's results affirm the steps and new thinking of the Party Committee of a purely agricultural commune like Thanh Tien to continue exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality.
