(Baonghean.vn) - In an interview on Fox News, US President Donald Trump hopes to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vietnam within the framework of the 2017 APEC Summit.

President Trump assessed the importance of attending the APEC 2017 Conference in Vietnam this time, because "We can meet President Putin. This is very important, Mr. Putin can help us solve the problems of North Korea, Syria and Ukraine" - Mr. Trump answered the interview.
According to the plan, President Trump will have a trip to Asia from November 5-14. Accordingly, he will visit and work in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
As part of the program, Mr. Trump will attend the APEC Summit on November 10 in Da Nang City, Vietnam; and from November 12-13, attend the Summit of Leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Manila.
Responding to the press about the possibility of a meeting between the Kremlin leader and the White House leader on the sidelines of the 2017 APEC Summit, Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said: "Currently, we have only proposed tentative options, but there is no specific timetable for the bilateral meeting."
Russian President Putin and US President Trump had their first official meeting on July 7, 2017, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. The meeting lasted for 2 hours, although it was scheduled to last only half an hour.
