Ethnic people in Nghia Thinh (Nghia Dan) apply information from newspapers to real-life models.

(Baonghean.vn) - For many years now, every Thursday and Sunday, at the community cultural house of hamlet 4, Nghia Thinh commune (Nghia Dan), all people regularly go to the hamlet cultural house library to read newspapers and look at books. From the news and articles on the newspapers, the ethnic minorities here have accessed information and applied scientific and technical advances, good practices in animal husbandry and cultivation.

Hamlet 4, Nghia Thinh commune has 139 households, of which ethnic minorities account for 98%. To encourage people to read books and newspapers and quickly access information, in addition to encouraging people to read on the spot, the hamlet library lends books and newspapers to read at home.

Mr. Luong Trong Thuc, 45 years old, a resident of Hamlet 4, Nghia Thinh Commune, said: “My family has more than 5 sao of garden land. Before, every 2 years, we grew sugarcane and then switched to growing cassava. We struggled and worked hard all year round, but the harvest was not much. In 2011, through mass media and especially through learning about the PQ tangerine growing model in Nghe An newspaper, my family boldly changed the crop structure. This season, the tangerines were harvested for the first time, with a lot of fruit. This tangerine variety is very popular in the market.”

Nghia Thinh is a remote commune of Nghia Dan district. Implementing Directive 11-CT/TU of the Politburo on purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines, in recent years, the Party Committee of Nghia Thinh commune has regularly led and directed the Party cells to seriously implement Directive 11 of the Politburo. Up to now, 100% of the Party cells have Nghe An newspaper to read every day. Among the 13 Party cells, Hamlet 4 Party Cell is one of the Party cells that has done a good job of reading and maintaining the Party newspaper for the people.

Mr. Vo Dinh An - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghia Thinh commune said: "Nghia Thinh has 13 Party cells. In recent years, the Party Committee has maintained the purchase and reading of Party newspapers regularly. Every day, each Party cell in the hamlet and schools in the area has a Nghe An newspaper and in hamlet 4 there is a library to meet the information needs of the people. Also from the models in the newspaper, people can access and implement very effectively. Therefore, in the past year, the Party Committee of Nghia Thinh commune has been awarded certificates of merit by Nghe An newspaper in implementing Directive 11-CT/TU on purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines.
