Comrade Le Hong Anh led a high-level delegation on a visit to Laos.

At the invitation of Comrade Buonnhang Vorachith, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and his wife, Comrade Le Hong Anh, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of our Party and his wife, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, visited, worked with, and extended Bunpimay New Year greetings to the leaders and people of Laos from April 11-13, 2015.

The high-level Vietnamese delegation held talks with the high-level Lao delegation.

On the afternoon of April 1st, in Vientiane, Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone received Comrade Le Hong Anh and the high-level Vietnamese delegation. Comrade Le Hong Anh expressed his pleasure at visiting and working in Laos at a time when the Lao Party, State, and people had just successfully organized activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and were preparing to celebrate the traditional Bunpimay New Year, deeply reflecting the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Comrade Le Hong Anh respectfully conveyed the warm greetings and New Year wishes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang to General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Saysone and other high-ranking leaders of the Lao Party, State, and people; expressed gratitude to Comrade Choummaly Saysone and other high-ranking leaders of the Lao Party and State for the extremely respectful, warm, friendly, and thoughtful reception given to the delegation; warmly congratulated the great and important achievements in all domestic and foreign fields that the Lao Party, State, and people have achieved in the process of renovation, protection, and national construction; expressed firm confidence that the Lao People's Revolutionary Party will lead the Lao people to achieve many new and greater achievements, successfully realizing the goals set forth by the 9th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; Successfully organizing Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 10th National Congress of the Party in early 2016, and successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous Laos in accordance with socialist principles.

Comrade Le Hong Anh affirmed that Laos' achievements have profound significance for the cause of protecting and developing the country, actively contributing to consolidating and strengthening the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, and at the same time contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. Comrade Le Hong Anh sincerely thanked the Party, State and people of Laos for the great and valuable assistance given to the Party, State and people of Vietnam in the past national liberation and reunification as well as in the current process of renovation, construction and defense of the country; affirming that under any circumstances, Vietnam will do its utmost together with Laos to preserve, continuously cultivate and pass on to future generations the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, a priceless asset of the two Parties and two nations. Comrade Le Hong Anh also informed the General Secretary and President of Laos about the recent situation in Vietnam and the results of the talks with Comrade Buonnhang Vorachith.

Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone warmly welcomed Comrade Le Hong Anh and his wife and the high-level delegation to visit and work with the leaders of the Lao Party, State, and people, and to celebrate the Bunpimay New Year with them. He considered this a very important activity, demonstrating the close relationship between the two parties, two states, and the people of Laos and Vietnam. He congratulated the Vietnamese Party, State, and people on the great, important, and historically significant achievements they have made in the renovation process. He expressed his firm belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will successfully achieve the goals set by the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam; and that the Communist Party of Vietnam will successfully organize Party congresses at all levels leading up to the 12th National Congress of the Party in early 2016. They expressed great joy and pride in the increasingly developing traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam, which is an important factor ensuring the stability and development of each country.

Comrade Choummaly Sayasone expressed his gratitude to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for their immense, valuable, and sincere support and assistance to the Party, State, and people of Laos throughout history; affirming that the Party, State, and people of Laos will do their utmost together with Vietnam to preserve and cultivate the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring it remains ever-lasting and enduring. General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone highly appreciated the results of the talks between the two high-level delegations of the two parties; provided a brief overview of the situation in Laos and recent Laos-Vietnam relations; and respectfully conveyed his thanks and best wishes for good health to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, and other high-ranking leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State.

Earlier, the high-level Vietnamese delegation, led by Comrade Le Hong Anh, also held talks with the high-level Lao delegation, led by Comrade Buonnhang Vorachith, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee, and Vice President of Laos.

Comrade Le Hong Anh visited and extended New Year greetings to Comrade Sisovath Keobunphan, former member of the Politburo, former Prime Minister, and former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.

During the talks, both sides highly appreciated the importance and significance of the visit, vividly demonstrating the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos; informed each other about the situation of each Party and country, the relationship between the two Parties and countries, and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest; both sides agreed to continue strengthening visits, meetings, and contacts between high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries and at all levels; enhance the exchange of information and experience on Party building work, organize theoretical and practical seminars and workshops; strengthen close cooperation in the fields of defense, security, economy, trade, investment, education, culture, etc.; and promote the dissemination of information about the traditional special relationship between Vietnam and Laos on the occasion of important anniversaries of the two Parties and countries. Both sides agreed to direct the ministries, departments, and localities of the two countries to effectively implement the high-level agreements between the two parties and the contents of the 37th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The talks took place in a friendly, sincere, trusting atmosphere, filled with fraternal camaraderie.

Later that same day, Comrade Le Hong Anh visited and extended New Year greetings to Comrade Sisovath Keobunphan, former member of the Politburo, former Prime Minister, and former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.
