Comrade Phan Dinh Trac presented support from the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front to the people of Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

On the evening of October 1, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission worked with the leaders of Nghe An province and presented support from the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to the people of Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

The working delegation included comrades: Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Dang Khanh Toan - Deputy Chief of the Party Central Office.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; and leaders of departments, agencies and branches.

In just over the past 2 months, Nghe An province has been continuously affected by 3 major storms. In particular, storm No. 10 at the end of September, with strong winds, long duration of impact, and wide range of influence, caused extremely heavy damage to all communes and wards along the coast, plains, midlands and mountains of the province.

As of 4 p.m. on October 1, the whole province had 4 deaths, 16 injuries; 53 houses completely collapsed, 50,547 houses were eroded, damaged, and had their roofs blown off; 16,357 houses/69,321 people were flooded; 45 schools were flooded; thousands of hectares of crops, livestock, and poultry were swept away; traffic infrastructure, irrigation, and electricity were severely damaged, isolating many areas. Total damage is estimated at about 1,627 billion VND.

With a proactive, decisive and urgent spirit, Nghe An province mobilized the entire political system, armed forces, and mass organizations to participate in rescue and relief.

Leaders at all levels must closely follow the locality, visit each household, and check each subject to provide timely support; arrange temporary accommodation, provide food, drinking water, and necessities, and resolutely not let people go hungry, lack clean water, lack clothing, or have no place to live.

The province also implemented the "4 on-site" policy to repair the traffic, electricity, communication, school and medical station systems; in which priority was given to urgent handling of educational and medical facilities so that students could return to school soon and people could receive medical examination and treatment; and continued to respond to widespread flooding.

On September 30, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee launched a fundraising movement, calling on people, cadres, soldiers, businesses and localities inside and outside the province to join hands to support people in areas affected by natural disasters to overcome consequences, soon stabilize their lives and restore production.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac presented support to the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province to contribute to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that while the province is struggling to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the support of the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front is a timely and extremely meaningful encouragement in spirit and material, adding motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province to confidently overcome difficulties, gradually recover and stabilize life for socio-economic development.
