Comrade Truong Van Kien - Former Secretary of Nghe Tinh Provincial Party Committee passed away

(Baonghean.vn) - Comrade Truong Van Kien, born on February 1, 1929 in Quynh Lap commune, Quynh Luu district (now Hoang Mai town), Nghe An province, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on April 17, 2018.

On April 19, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Ly Thai To Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City and his family sadly announced: Comrade Truong Van Kien, born on February 1, 1929 in Quynh Lap Commune, Quynh Luu District (now Hoang Mai Town), Nghe An Province; permanent residence at No. 6 Tong Dan, Ly Thai To Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City; former Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, 4th Term; Delegate of the 6th Term; former Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province, Secretary of the Nghe Tinh Provincial Party Committee; former Deputy Minister of Food (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) passed away at 9:30 a.m. on April 17, 2018, i.e., March 2, Mau Tuat Year, at the age of 89.

Comrade Truong Van Kien, also known as Truong Kien, during his career, left many marks in the construction and development of his homeland in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. He was also one of the people who made important contributions to the construction of the Ke Go reservoir irrigation project, solving the problem of irrigation and drainage for an area of ​​more than 21,000 hectares of productive land of 62 communes and wards in the three districts of Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, and Ha Tinh town in the late 70s of the 20th century.

With his contributions, comrade Truong Van Kien was awarded by the Party and State the Second Class Independence Medal; First and Third Class Resistance Medals; Medal for the cause of agricultural development, Medal for the cause of cooperative development; and 70-year Party membership badge.

The funeral of comrade Truong Van Kien was held according to high-level rituals. The visitation ceremony was held from 7:00 to 8:45 on April 20; the memorial service was held at 8:45 the same day at the National Funeral House, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi; cremation at Hoan Vu Crematorium, Van Dien, Hanoi, burial at his hometown cemetery.
