Comrade Vo Van Thuong: Overcoming the situation of studying resolutions "in the morning, in the afternoon, there are no people"

On the morning of April 17, the Central Propaganda Department and the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee jointly held a conference to review the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" for the Northern Provincial and Municipal Party Committees and Party Committees directly under the Central Committee.

The work of self-criticism and criticism has gradually become more substantial, overcoming the situation of deference, avoidance, and fear of conflict. Many party members have shown determination in protecting what is right and fiercely fighting what is wrong.

Overcoming the resolution study but "crowded morning, empty afternoon"

Highly appreciating the results achieved in the leadership, direction and organization of the implementation of Directive 05 in the past time, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vo Van Thuong emphasized that such work has actively contributed to improving the quality and effectiveness of Party building and rectification work, fighting against ideological, political, moral and lifestyle degradation, "self-evolution", "self-transformation", and fighting against corruption, negativity and waste.

According to comrade Vo Van Thuong, in implementation, we should choose the right breakthrough stage, creating positive changes on both "construction" and "defense" aspects.

“We have made a huge change in exchanging, listening, and solving people's pressing problems. We have been proactive in cutting administrative procedures, using efficiency, the measure of people's trust and confidence to evaluate officials,” said Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

Besides the achievements, comrade Vo Van Thuong also pointed out some limitations such as: laziness in studying the resolution still exists in many places.

“The assessment said that the implementation of the resolution has made initial progress, becoming more crowded, faster, and wider, but there are also signs of being crowded in the morning and empty in the afternoon - mainly among leaders and Party committees.

Then there was no note taking, and the understanding was not thorough. Many people came to read Ipads, smartphones, and some even slept. This must also be noted and overcome in the coming time," the Head of the Central Propaganda Department noted.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department also mentioned the situation where propaganda work is not creative and typical examples have not been widely replicated.

“In reality, there are many typical examples that attract public attention. For example, the case of a child cycling hundreds of kilometers to Hanoi to visit his sibling moved the whole society,” said comrade Vo Van Thuong, hoping that these good typical examples will be spread.

In addition, in many places, “building” is not associated with “fighting”, many typical examples of “building” are introduced, but talking about “fighting” is still limited. Especially issues related to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department pointed out a number of key areas that need to be focused on in the coming time. Specifically, promoting regular and effective propaganda to mark the 50th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament.

Continue to study and thoroughly grasp the 2019 theme in conjunction with the implementation of political tasks, closely combining the voluntary implementation of ideology with the example setting of cadres, the implementation of responsibilities of cadres and party members, and strengthening inspection and supervision of the Party organization.

At the same time, continue to promote thrift practice, fight waste, build a culture of affection, love for compatriots, comrades and teammates in daily life and work.
