3.7 magnitude earthquake in the area near the Vietnam-Laos border
At 6:33 p.m. on April 15, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake occurred near the Laos-Vietnam border, about 15 km from Sop Cop district (Son La).

This earthquake occurred at the coordinates (20.715 degrees North latitude and 103.124 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 10 km.
Currently, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center is continuing to monitor this earthquake.
Previously, at 11:39 a.m. on March 26, 2018, a 2.9-magnitude earthquake also occurred in Muong La district, Son La province.
This earthquake occurred at the coordinates (21.603 degrees North latitude and 103.919 degrees East longitude), with a focal depth of about 7 km.
Speaking to VietnamPlus reporters, a representative of the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center said that earthquakes with a magnitude below 4 on the Richter scale are considered small earthquakes.
These earthquakes may cause slight shaking, but are unlikely to affect people near the area./.
