Taiwan earthquake: At least 7 dead, 380 injured

The Tainan City Emergency Rescue Center (Taiwan, China) said that the death toll in the terrible earthquake in this country on February 6 has increased to 7, including infants and young children.

Authorities said earlier the bodies of a newborn baby, a girl, and two adults were found in the rubble of a high-rise residential building.

The body of a woman was found at a water tower. There is no specific information about the other two dead.

In addition, the social networking site Facebook has activated a “safety check” feature specifically for users in Taiwan. This feature allows Facebook users to know whether their friends or relatives are safe or not.

On the morning of February 6, Taiwanese leader Ma Ying-jeou also went to Tainan city to direct rescue forces to make more efforts to search for the missing people.
