Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuong, Secretary of the Coal Mine Village in Tam Quang, Tuong Duong District, said that a slight aftershock occurred in the area, causing houses to shake for about 1 second. Meanwhile, in Yen Hoa and Nga My communes, a loud explosion occurred, causing the ground to shake violently twice, about 10 minutes apart.

Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Phuong, a resident of Mo village, said: "I was sitting with my two children in the house when I felt as if someone had pushed the chair under my feet. My two children were so frightened that they hugged me without understanding what had happened."

Following the earthquake, officials from Tuong Duong district went to the affected communes to assess the situation.

The villagers of Mỏ poured into the streets, worried by the strange phenomenon that was occurring.

According to local residents, this is the first time this phenomenon has occurred in Tuong Duong district.
