'Accompanying the nation, benefiting religion, benefiting life'

(Baonghean) - Ms. Dinh Thi Hoa (Dharma name Thich Nu Dieu Nhan) - Abbot of Can Linh Pagoda (Vinh City); candidate for Provincial People's Council delegate for the 2016 - 2021 term in constituency No. 9, Thanh Chuong district.

Over the years, keeping in mind the teachings of the Buddha, the previous Patriarchs and inheriting and promoting the Charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha "Dharma, Nation - Socialism", "Protecting the nation and people, benefiting religion and life, always accompanying the nation", I have always, together with the people and Buddhists, done many beneficial things for religion and life, which have been recognized by the authorities and people of the province.

If I am elected by the voters to be a representative of the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term, I am well aware that as an elected representative, representing the voters, I must regularly listen to the opinions and suggestions of the voters, urgent matters serving the people's lives to make recommendations to the Provincial People's Council and competent authorities for resolution. At the same time, I will monitor and supervise the handling of voters' recommendations by competent authorities, promptly report to voters, and bring peace and legitimate rights to the people.

As a Buddhist dignitary, I am always aware of and encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhists, regardless of religion, to unite with the people to build a prosperous and happy life; together with the monks and nuns of the Nghe An Buddhist Association, to pay deep attention to the thoughts and aspirations of Buddhist followers and the people; to guide them to gather in accordance with the Dharma, to fully comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, to live a "good life, good religion", and not to be superstitious.

Promoting the spirit of compassion and generosity of Buddhism, the tradition of "accompanying the nation, benefiting religion, benefiting life, actively participating in patriotic emulation", in humanitarian charity campaigns, I will actively mobilize philanthropists, Buddhists and people to support and share difficulties with people affected by floods, natural disasters, poor and disadvantaged families; take care of orphans, lonely elderly people, people affected by Agent Orange; actively support the fund for education and talent encouragement... Promoting the fine tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" of the nation, I will also increase visits and care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers. At the same time, I will coordinate with authorities at all levels, the Fatherland Front at all levels to participate in the task of hunger eradication and poverty reduction; building people's lives to be increasingly prosperous and happy.

In addition to the above-mentioned common issues, as a candidate for the Provincial People's Council in Thanh Chuong district, I also wonder how, together with the Buddhist master in charge of the district, I can call on Buddhists and people to restore and renovate a number of pagodas approved by competent authorities, contributing to preserving, embellishing and conserving the cultural identity of Vietnamese pagodas; meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the people, contributing to creating an environment for people to live in peace and goodness; contributing to building a fair, democratic, civilized and happy society.
