On the afternoon of January 4, in Vinh city, the Nguyen Trong - Trung Can Family Council held a ceremony to announce and receive the Certificate of Record for the first family in Vietnam to have 4 consecutive generations sent by the royal court to the Qing Dynasty 5 times to establish diplomatic relations. At the same time, there were 3 consecutive generations who passed the Third Class Doctorate examinations under the Later Le - Le Trung Hung Dynasty (1533 - 1789).

The Nguyen Trong - Trung Can family (Nam Dan) has a 500-year history, closely linked to the tradition of culture - mandarin - diplomacy. It can be said that the elders Nguyen Trong Thuong, Nguyen Trong Duong, Nguyen Trong Duong, Nguyen Trong Vo inherited, gathered and promoted the quintessence of the family.

Ambassador, Duke, Doctor Nguyen Trong Thuong(1681-1738): He passed the Third Class of the Royal Examination, Nham Thin year, Vinh Thinh 8th year (1712); served as an official in many positions up to Dong Cac Dai Hoc Si, was awarded the title of Minister of Public Works, and the title of Can Quan Cong. As the Chief Envoy of the Dai Viet court during the Le Trung Hung period, he fulfilled the "military mandate" and did not "disrespect the king's mandate" of an Envoy during a period of great change in the dynasty, opening the way for the excellent and illustrious diplomatic tradition of the Nguyen Trong - Trung Can family.
Ambassador Nguyen Trong Duong(1723-1786): He was the second son of the Ambassador, Duke, Doctor Nguyen Trong Thuong, who passed the third class of the same Doctorate exam in the year of Ky Suu, Canh Hung 30 (1769) under King Le Hien Tong; served as an official to the position of Han Lam Hieu Ly, Deputy Ambassador to the Qing Dynasty (1761). Upon returning, he was appointed Governor of Lang Son, and had the merit of restoring and compiling the Nguong Duc stele on Nam Quan pass, a stele of historical and literary value, regarding the geographical boundaries, border gates, and the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, demonstrating national pride and the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland...
Ambassador Nguyen Trong Duong(1746-1811), the eldest grandson of envoy Nguyen Trong Thuong and nephew of envoy Nguyen Trong Duong; At the age of 34, he passed the Third Class Doctorate Examination, the year of Ky Hoi - Canh Hung 40 (1779) under King Le Hien Tong; served as an official with the title of Dong Cac Dai Hoc Si, with the title of Chi Phong Ba. In the 44th year of Canh Hung (1783), he served as Deputy Envoy to the Qing Dynasty, and was praised by the Qing Emperor, given the title of "Luong Quoc Han Lam" and the large character "Tam the su hoa" embroidered on a special brocade flag famous in Trung Chau.
Ambassador Nguyen Trong Vo, son of Ambassador Nguyen Trong Duong. He was a Royal Academy Doctor, promoted to the position of Right Minister of War, Acting Right Tham Tri of the Ministry of War, with the rank of Second Rank; Deputy Ambassador to the Qing Dynasty in the year of Giap Than (1824). When he returned, he brought the book "Dai Quy" to present to King Minh Mang. With this book, the Hue court consulted and perfected the system of Luc Khoa (6 departments, corresponding to six ministries: Personnel, Rites, Military, Finance, Justice, and Public Works) and the position of Inspector General, contributing to further strengthening the effectiveness of mutual supervision between the Central agencies and the cities, businesses, and towns. In the year of Mau Ty (1828), he was again recommended as Chief Ambassador to the Qing Dynasty, accompanied by his second wife, Nguyen Thi Sach.
