Nghe An compatriots in Hue sell gai cake to help students with cancer
(Baonghean.vn) - Over the past 10 days, the Nghe An - Ha Tinh Association at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry has coordinated to organize a program selling gai cakes to raise funds to help students at the school with cancer.
Faced with the difficult situation of Ho Thi Xuan, from Thach Dong commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province, a student of Veterinary class 48C, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, who has stage 3 cancer and is being treated at Hue Medical and Pharmaceutical Hospital, the Nghe - Tinh Association in the school organized fundraising activities, including selling gai cakes to share the difficulties with Xuan's family.

The program started on April 9 and lasted for more than 10 days, with the participation of about 50 students from Nghe An and Ha Tinh. The sticky rice cakes were purchased from craft villages in Anh Son district and transported to Hue in batches. The students focused on promoting the program on social networks, clearly stating the purpose of the sale and calling for people to support.

Because the banh gai is sent by car from Anh Son to Hue at around 2-3am, the volunteers have to stay awake to receive and distribute the goods. Thanks to the good propaganda work, the program has been supported by many people, not only students but also many Hue people have ordered.
Along with selling gai cakes are pen sales and charity donations. As of April 21, the Nghe An - Ha Tinh Association and Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry have sold 21,600 pairs of gai cakes, and after deducting consignment fees, earned nearly 80 million VND in profit.
