Dong Tam Long An unexpectedly reaches the semi-finals of the National Cup.
(Baonghean.vn) - A major surprise occurred at the Long An stadium when Dong Tam Long An defeated Hanoi T&T in the quarter-final match of the 2013 National Cup held on the afternoon of July 11th.
Currently bottom of the V-League 2013 table and struggling in the relegation battle, many believed that Dong Tam Long An would give up on the National Cup to focus on the V-League. However, what the team from the Southwest region showed in their quarter-final match against Hanoi T&T on Thursday afternoon surprised both experts and fans.

DTLA (in red) came from behind to beat Hanoi T&T (in white) to advance to the semi-finals of the National Cup.
Despite facing a visiting team considered superior in every aspect, Long An FC, under the guidance of coach Ngo Quang Sang, played a rather good game. The home team proactively played an attacking game, exchanging blows with their opponents. The deadlock was only broken when Quang Long opened the scoring for Hanoi T&T in the 16th minute.
It seemed as though the home team would concede more goals, but DTLA displayed a completely different performance, fighting back strongly and ultimately staging a convincing comeback.
First came the goal in the 51st minute, when Thanh Hai, with a skillful dribble, beat Van Bien and shot into the net, equalizing the score at 1-1 for the home team. Then, in the 78th minute, Gilson headed in the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory for Dong Tam Long An.
In the other quarter-final match, SHB Da Nang easily defeated QNK Quang Nam with a score of 3-0.
