Breaking into a house to steal property, drug addict with a criminal record is prosecuted
(Baonghean.vn) - Having just been released from prison for theft, a long-time drug addict recklessly broke into a house at noon to steal cash to buy drugs.
On February 26, Con Cuong District Police announced that the District Police Investigation Agency had just issued a decision to prosecute Nguyen Hai Au (born 1989), residing in Village 2, Hoa Son Commune, Anh Son District, for theft of property.
Previously, at 12:30 on February 20, 2020, Chau Khe Commune Police (Con Cuong) received a report from Mr. La Van H. (born in 1986) residing in Khe Bu village, Chau Khe commune with the following content: At about 11:00 on February 20, 2020, after returning home from work in Khe Bu village, he discovered that the family's wardrobe had been ransacked by a thief. After checking, the victim discovered that the thief had stolen 4,700,000 VND.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Commune Police Department quickly went to the scene to verify the incident, and at the same time focused on forces to check and screen suspicious subjects in the area. During the quick check, it was discovered that Nguyen Hai Au (born in 1989), residing in village 2, Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district, had many suspicious subjects.
It is known that Au is a long-term drug addict, has a previous conviction for theft, was just released from prison in April 2019 and was present in Khe Bu village, Chau Khe commune at the time of the incident.
Continuing to consolidate evidence, the Commune Police identified Au as a suspect in the case, so they focused their forces on searching for the subject. At about 9:00 a.m. on February 21, 2020, receiving information that the subject was present at the guard hut in Khe Na village, Chau Khe commune, the police force surrounded and arrested the subject and brought him to the headquarters for clarification.
During the investigation, Au admitted all his crimes and handed over the remaining amount of 1,700,000 VND as evidence of the case. Chau Khe Commune Police handed over the suspect and evidence to the Investigation Police Agency of Con Cuong District Police to continue investigating and expanding the case.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and handled by the Con Cuong District Police Department according to its authority.
