The Vietnamese women's national team dropped one place in the FIFA rankings.

In the latest FIFA rankings for women's football, the Vietnamese national team has dropped one place to 35th in the world.

Since FIFA announced the previous women's football rankings on March 27th, the Vietnamese women's national team has played a total of 6 international matches, 5 of which were recognized by FIFA for ranking purposes.

Of these five matches, the Vietnamese women's national team suffered two defeats: one against Thailand in the semi-finals of the AFF Women's Cup and another in a friendly match in Australia. Therefore, it's not surprising that our girls dropped one place to 35th in the world rankings, continuing to be behind Thailand (30th) in Southeast Asia.

At the Asian level, the Vietnamese women's team continues to rank 7th, behind Japan, North Korea, Australia, China, South Korea, and Thailand.

At the top of the world rankings, there have been some shake-ups following the 2015 Women's World Cup. The US team, with their victory in Canada, pushed Germany down to second place, while France retained third. England, with their run to the semi-finals, made their first appearance in the top 5.

The next FIFA women's football rankings will be announced on September 25th. Between now and then, the Vietnamese women's national team will participate in the most important tournament of the year: the second round of the 2016 Olympic qualifiers, where coach Norimatsu Takashi's team will face Thailand, Myanmar, Taiwan, and Jordan for a single spot in the third round.
