Myanmar was considered the underdog, so Vietnam's dominance throughout the match was undeniable. The mobility of the midfield quartet of Minh Tuan, Tan Tai, Hoang Thinh, and Thanh Luong, with their well-rounded and sharp attacking and defensive capabilities, was the key factor that forced Avramovic's players to retreat to their own half to defend desperately.

In this match, the Vietnamese national team's forwards played explosively, making full use of the scoring opportunities created. Just five minutes after missing a chance in the 5th minute, Hai Anh scored with a beautiful volley after Cong Vinh's header deflected off a Myanmar player. Then, in the 15th minute, the Dong Nai striker scored again with a header from a pass by Cong Vinh.

After Hai Anh's brace, it was Cong Vinh's turn to shine. In the SLNA striker's two consecutive goals in the 20th and 33rd minutes, Minh Tuan and Thanh Luong provided the assists. And the striker capped off a memorable match with a lob to complete his hat-trick in the 51st minute.

In the second half, coach Toshiya Miura made several substitutions to test different lineups. Although Vietnam still controlled the game, they didn't organize the same pressing attacks as in the first half, so the pressure on Myanmar's goal was minimal. This is why Avramovic's players only conceded one more goal, a header from Van Quyet at the end of the second half.

For their part, due to having to defend, the Myanmar team did not create many scoring opportunities towards Nguyen Manh's goal. In the rare attacking attempts, Avramovic's team also failed to create any breakthroughs against the fairly alert and effective defense of the Vietnamese team.
