In the first minutes, the Vietnamese team started the game cautiously. Meanwhile, the host team, Indonesia, with home field advantage, showed quite confidence in their attacks.
In the first 20 minutes, Indonesia had to use 5 fouls to neutralize the attacks of the Vietnamese team. In the 19th minute, Trong Hoang was the one who had the first dangerous shot. The shot was powerful with his right foot but the ball found the right position of the Indonesian goalkeeper.
In the 24th minute, Hung Dung's effort created a dangerous situation right in the 16m50 box, unfortunately no player was able to shoot. However, just in the corner kick situation after that, Tien Linh headed the ball, Van Hau created a wall to create conditions for Duy Manh to tap the ball close to the goal to open the score of the match.

On the 11m mark, Que Ngoc Hai made no mistake, defeating the Indonesian goalkeeper to raise the score to 2-0. A very meaningful gift from him to his wife on her birthday.
In the 57th minute, Trong Hoang's through ball created a very dangerous opportunity for the Vietnam team, unfortunately Van Toan had the ball cleared by his opponent. Conceding two quick goals, Indonesia immediately made a substitution to increase their attack.
Vietnam had more space as their opponents pushed forward to find an equalizer. And in the 59th minute, Duc Huy had a shot from outside the 16m50 box from a pass from Van Toan. The Indonesian goalkeeper had to punch the ball away.

In the following minutes, the long balls of the Indonesian team could not bring any results. Number 10 Lilipaly tried hard but he alone was not enough to make a difference against the concentrated defense of the Vietnamese team. However, this was the match where goalkeeper Van Lam showed his uncertainty in the high ball situations.
In the 75th minute, Coach Park made a substitution, sending Van Thanh onto the field to replace Tien Linh. Before that, Viet Phong also came onto the field to replace Van Toan. Immediately after entering the field, Van Thanh had a chance, but his long-range shot hit the Indonesian defender.

With 10 minutes left in the match, Indonesia continued to make substitutions. A moment of distraction from the defense, especially Duy Manh, forced Van Lam to pick the ball out of the net.
In the 84th minute, the diminutive midfielder Riko tried to dribble past three Vietnamese defenders before passing to substitute Irfan Bachdim who shot past Van Lam. Immediately after, Hong Duy was brought on to replace Trong Hoang.
In the 90th minute, Vietnam almost scored a goal to increase the score to 4-1 from a difficult corner kick by Quang Hai. In the final minute (90+4), Vietnam was once again awarded a penalty when an Indonesian defender blatantly fouled Quang Hai in the penalty area.
The person who took the shot was Hung Dung but the midfielder of the Vietnam national team failed to do so. And this was also the last situation of the match.
In the end, Vietnam won 3-1. This result helped Vietnam get 7 points after 3 matches, 2 wins and 1 draw.
In the remaining match, Thailand won 2-1 against UAE, temporarily taking first place in Group G with 7 points but having a better goal difference than Vietnam.

4-2-3-1 tactical formation and the 'faulty version' named Indonesia
(Baonghean.vn) – Just like the Malaysian and Thai national teams, Indonesia builds its playing style based on the 4-2-3-1 tactical formation. This is a fairly comprehensive and modern formation, however, each individual member of the Indonesian team seems unable to take advantage of the advantages of this tactical formation.
