Following orders from coach Toshiya Miura, the players were required to be at the Becamex Hotel before 6:00 PM on June 25th to prepare for a meeting scheduled for 6:00 PM. Due to some transportation difficulties, several players, such as Van Long and Vinh Loi, were unable to arrive in time for the meeting. However, the team meeting still took place on time and lasted approximately 30 minutes. This was an opportunity for coach Toshiya Miura, his assistants, and the players to get acquainted with each other. The coaching staff also announced the team's rules and training plan for the coming days.
Excitement was the general mood among the players on the first day of the Vietnamese national team's training camp, and for newcomers like Huy Toàn and Minh Tâm, the emotions were even more intense. “Although the coach and my teammates at SHB Da Nang had informed me that I would be called up to the national team, I honestly didn't believe it because there are so many players better than me in the V-League. Only when I received the call-up did I dare to believe it. I was truly surprised and overjoyed, because this is the first time I've worn the Vietnamese national team jersey,” midfielder Hoàng Minh Tâm shared. Despite their nervousness, the newcomers are determined to do their best to compete for a place in the Vietnamese national team.

Having been called up to the national team before, Nguyen Hai Anh felt genuinely happy to be included in this training camp again. “I’m very excited about this training camp because the Vietnamese national team has a new head coach. Like my teammates, I hope there will be a fresh breeze for the whole team…,” the Dong Nai FC striker enthusiastically stated. When asked about his confidence in securing a place in the Vietnamese national team's lineup for the match against Myanmar, the leading scorer in the 2014 V-League (11 goals) humbly stated that he still has much to learn from his senior teammates before he can hope to find a place in the squad.
For his part, coach Toshiya Miura expressed satisfaction with the players on the call-up list. “I have been following them and I am pleased with the players selected for the Vietnamese national team. There is still plenty of time until the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014, so the door to the national team remains open for other players,” the Japanese coach shared. Regarding the training plan for the coming days, Coach Toshiya Miura said: “The training time is only one week, and since the V-League is currently underway, fitness is not an issue during this training camp. My goal in the coming days is to convey the tactical vision I want to build for the Vietnamese national team.”
Since the door to the team is still wide open, coach Toshiya Miura also affirmed that players who want to find a place must give their best on the field. "The players called up this time must work very hard to hope to earn a spot in the Vietnamese national team on the journey towards the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014," the Japanese coach sent this message to his players!

Will Le Tan Tai be the captain?

Yesterday, the list of the Vietnamese national team's leadership team was still not finalized. However, if nothing changes, midfielder Le Tan Tai will continue to be given the captain's armband. Meanwhile, midfielder Pham Thanh Luong and striker Le Cong Vinh are likely to be vice-captains. These are the same players who were part of the leadership team under coaches Phan Thanh Hung and Hoang Van Phuc. Since these three players are still highly respected by their colleagues in the national team, their continued presence in the leadership team under coach Miura is not entirely surprising.
