Ben Thuy 2 Bridge project launched in early spring
(Baonghean) -This morning, January 31 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), the Ministry of Transport, Project Management Board 85 and the General Construction Corporation for Transport Works 4 (Cienco4) held the launching ceremony of the first spring of the Year of the Dragon 2012 of the Ben Thuy 2 Bridge Construction Project.

The report of Project Management Board 85 and General Construction Corporation CTGT4 said: Ben Thuy 2 Bridge Project started construction on March 14, 2010, including 7 construction packages focusing on key companies of General Construction Corporation CTGT4, which is a strong unit of the transport sector, and a number of other contractors. In the general difficult conditions of finance, site clearance, harsh weather, storms and floods, and complex geology, Project Management Board 85 and supervision consultants, especially contractors, have promoted internal resources to ensure construction progress, site clearance of more than 70%, the volume of work performed is more than 538 billion VND / total construction contract value of 824.8 billion VND, reaching nearly 70%; production of Supe T girders, installation of girders and excavation of roadbeds at both ends of the bridge reached from more than 30 to 60% of the plan. The project management board and contractors strive to complete Ben Thuy 2 Bridge on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, May 19, 2012, and open it to traffic at the end of June 2012, ensuring high quality and safety.
On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, Vice Chairman Huynh Thanh Dien expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Party, Government, and Ministry of Transport in deciding to build Ben Thuy 2 Bridge to reduce the load of Ben Thuy 1 Bridge, contributing to increasing traffic capacity on National Highway 1A. At the same time, the two provinces will create favorable conditions for contractors to ensure construction progress on schedule.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Minister Truong Tan Vien acknowledged the attention of the leaders of the two provinces, the efforts of Project Management Board 85, and the contractors participating in the implementation of the key project Ben Thuy Bridge 2. He noted that units in the sector need to strive to implement high-quality transport works in response to the Government's restructuring policy for the transport sector in 2012 and the following years.
After witnessing the signing ceremony with local leaders, the Project Management Board and contractors striving to complete the construction of Ben Thuy 2 Bridge on schedule, the Deputy Minister of Transport presented Tet gifts and encouraged the contractors to start production in the early spring of Nham Thin 2012 with high efficiency and quality.
Previously, Deputy Minister Truong Tan Vien visited and wished a happy new year to the staff of GT4 Construction Corporation. He hoped that the unit would continue to promote its achievements as a strong unit in the industry, participate in the construction of Ben Thuy 2 Bridge and other projects nationwide to ensure progress and quality./.
