(Baonghean.vn) - After four years of difficulties in compensation and land clearance for the Ban Mong Reservoir project, on the afternoon of June 3, 2015, eight households in Yen Hop commune received financial support and handed over 5.2 hectares of land to the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Irrigation Project 4.
On June 5, 2015, at the construction site of package N1, part of the Ban Mong Reservoir Project's headworks complex in Yen Hop commune, under the direction of the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation Project 4, the contractors, namely Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company 1 and Duc Hien Construction Joint Stock Company, mobilized machinery and personnel to construct the access road to the waste disposal site.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, a technical officer of Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1, by the end of June 5th, the construction site will receive more machinery and equipment deployed by the company to focus on the construction of the main canal.
Meeting with some of the affected households and commune and village officials in Yen Hop, all the worries caused by previous obstacles have been resolved. Everyone happily said that joy has returned; and expressed their hope that the construction units will speed up the progress so that the large-scale irrigation project can be completed, relieving the prolonged drought of the past many years.

| According to Mr. Tran Van Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Hop commune, the biggest lesson learned from resolving the obstacles related to the Ban Mong water reservoir project is that, in addition to strictly implementing legal regulations, government officials need to be close to the people, understand their needs, and stay connected with them. |
