(Baonghean.vn) - According to the set target, the project to upgrade the roadway and sidewalk of Le Hong Phong Street (Vinh City) will be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2024. However, by the second half of May, there were still many unfinished construction items at the construction site, affecting traffic and trade.
ProjectRenovation and upgrading of Le Hong Phong streetofficially started construction at the end of September 2023, expected to be completed and handed over by the end of the second quarter of 2024. This is a key street, so like some other streets, the project is constructed in a rolling manner, both construction and exploitation.
Up to now, after more than 7 months of construction, while the section from the intersection withLenin AvenueThe intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street has been basically completed, but the remaining section from Nguyen Van Cu Street to the intersection with Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street is still under construction.
Below are some photos captured by Nghe An Newspaper reporters:
Le Hong Phong Street, from the intersection with Le Nin Street to Nguyen Van Cu Street, has basically completed all items. However, because the cables have not been buried underground and there are still high-voltage electric poles standing in the middle of the road, it is not yet safe and does not ensure urban beauty. Photo: Nguyen HaiAt the right turn from Nguyen Van Cu intersection to Le Hong Phong street, because the intersection has many ditches, water pipes and telecommunication cables passing through, the construction here is progressing quite slowly, and the site is taking a long time to be restored. The shop owner said that the shop will have to close and temporarily suspend operations for the next 2 weeks. Photo: Nguyen HaiThe sidewalk section from house number 107 to house number 115, Le Hong Phong street, due to the simultaneous construction of many items, from water supply pipes, telecommunication cables to replacing large drainage ditches connected to the city's drainage ditch number 2, the construction techniques are complicated so the construction time is prolonged. Photo: Nguyen HaiThe sidewalk in front of Huynh Thuc Khang High School is being dug up to install underground cable lines. This is a technically difficult construction section because many manholes are where underground power and telecommunication cables are connected. Photo: Nguyen HaiThe sidewalk and road expansion from Hoa Sen Kindergarten to the gas station on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street has been under construction for more than 2 months, making it difficult for people to travel and transact, and causing traffic jams during rush hour. Photo: Nguyen HaiMr. Nguyen Tam Ky - Chairman of Hung Binh Ward People's Committee said: The project to upgrade the road and sidewalk of Le Hong Phong Street is being constructed by many contractors. The construction process of all items is waiting for the opinions of competent authorities to handle, so there is a delay in progress. Due to voters' petitions, the Ward People's Committee has repeatedly requested the City Investment Project Management Board to urge contractors to speed up the progress. In the photo: Workers pave the sidewalk from the beginning of Kim Dong Street running east to Nghe An Publishing House.
The project to renovate and upgrade the road and sidewalk of Le Hong Phong Street (Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City) has a total investment of over 140 billion VND, including the main items: widening the road from the current 14m to 18m by cutting the sidewalks on both sides, each side 2m; investing in underground power and telecommunication cables; replacing all current trees with Lagerstroemia trees and replacing and re-paving the sidewalk with natural stone. Le Hong Phong Street is 2.73 km long, from the starting point at the intersection with the roundabout of Le Nin - Truong Thi Street to the end point at the intersection with Le Loi - Quang Trung Street.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thien - Deputy Director of Vinh City Investment Project Management Board shared: Basically, the Le Hong Phong road and sidewalk upgrade project does not have many problems, only the connection items arise when burying the power cables near the sidewalk area of Huynh Thuc Khang High School, the construction technique is complicated so it takes time because the plan must be submitted to the electricity industry. In addition, during the construction process, to ensure progress, the Board continuously urges and reminds the contractor to take advantage of favorable weather, arrange human resources and machinery to complete in the second quarter. However, for many reasons, the progress of some items is likely to be slower than planned.
