Forecast of natural disasters in the coastal area from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has just signed a decision approving the project "Integrated investigation, assessment and forecasting of changes in natural conditions, resources, environment and natural disasters in the sea area from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan to serve marine economic development".

The project aims to establish the current status, assess and forecast changes in natural conditions, resources, environment and natural disasters in the sea area from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan at a depth of 60 to 100 meters, in order to plan the development of the marine economy in this area, and at the same time propose solutions for rational resource use, response to natural disasters and protection of the marine environment.
The project is tasked with collecting relevant documents and developing a project outline; conducting surveys on geodesy, geophysics, geology and ecosystems, marine resources, environment and natural disasters; processing and analyzing samples, monitoring the environment, and building models; and constructing a database on natural conditions, resources, environment and natural disasters.
Hanoi National University was the lead agency implementing the project from 2011 to 2015. The total estimated budget for the project was 92.351 billion VND, allocated from the economic development budget.
