(Baonghean.vn) - After a period of record heat, it is forecasted that from tonight, April 30, Nghe An province will have rain, heavy rain, the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
On April 30, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 46/VP-PCTT to direct response measures and minimize damage caused by thunderstorms, hail and gusts of wind.
The dispatch stated: According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of weak cold air, from the night of April 30 to May 1, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

To proactively respond and minimize damage, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province requests the People's Committees of districts, cities, towns and related agencies and units to:
Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts of natural disasters and weather to promptly and regularly notify and guide authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage caused by thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; be ready with on-site forces to promptly support people to overcome the consequences (if any).
At the same time, direct specialized agencies to coordinate with media agencies, especially at the grassroots level, to strengthen propaganda activities, disseminate instructions to people and tourists on how to recognize and respond to thunderstorms with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind to minimize damage.
Organize on-duty shifts seriously, closely monitor weather and natural disaster developments, and regularly compile reports to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
