Tourists climb rocks, wade through streams, and conquer the strangely beautiful 'open-air swimming pool' in Phu Yen
The distance to the “open-air swimming pool” is about 2km long, but it takes a lot of time and energy. Visitors have to cross large, bumpy rocks, but everyone is excited to admire a very different beauty in Phu Yen.
Located 30km southwest of Tuy Hoa city, Phun valley (in Hoa My Tay commune, Tay Hoa district, Phu Yen province) is an attractive destination for travel enthusiasts and adventure seekers because of its wild and majestic beauty.

According to Phu Yen Electronic Information Portal, Phun Valley is nestled in the Da Den mountain range, formed by streams from the Ca Pass in the upper reaches of the Banh Lai River. This place possesses a beautiful natural landscape, with a clear blue lake and surrounded by vertical cliffs stacked on top of each other.

Mr. Vo Dieu (born in 1992, local tour guide) said that the space in Phun valley is fresh and cool. There is a large, clear lake and a high waterfall. Visitors can see many small fish swimming around when soaking in the waterfall.
According to Mr. Dieu, the distance from Tuy Hoa city to Phun valley is quite convenient, you can travel by motorbike or car. However, from the parking lot to the valley, the road is difficult, about 2km long.
“Visitors have to walk to the abyss, which takes about an hour. This route is difficult because there are no trails and you need to be in good physical condition to follow the rough stream, then climb over large rocks or swim through deep pools to reach the most beautiful location,” he said.
From the edge of the rock to the abyss, the height is about 20m. When the upstream water falls from above onto the large rocks below, it creates a strong force that causes the water to bounce back up, creating white foam.

The impressive and enchanting scenery makes visitors feel satisfied even though they have to spend a lot of energy to get here because they can admire the "picturesque" scenery and immerse themselves in the cool water.

Mr. Dieu said that the ideal time to explore Phun Valley is from April to September every year. However, the amount of water flowing from upstream is not fixed, depending on the amount of rain, so visitors need to follow the weather forecast or contact a local tour guide before starting the trip.

Mr. Hoang Minh Duc - a tourist from Hanoi commented that Phun Abyss is a place "not popular with tourists" because if you come here, you need to have a local tour guide with you, as well as carry a lot of luggage and accessories to be able to have fun to the fullest.
“If you know how to swim, that’s an advantage because to get to Phun Abyss, you have to cross a large lake. You have to swim or paddle a SUP. But it’s so cool, bathing in a jacuzzi is not as enjoyable as standing under a waterfall or having your feet massaged by fish,” Duc said.

Coming to Phun Valley, in addition to immersing yourself in the cool water and sightseeing, taking photos, visitors can also SUP, massage fish... or combine camping, organizing outdoor barbecues, trekking in the neighboring forests.

However, this is a new destination, still quite wild, without full tourist services, so visitors need to be careful to prepare enough food, drinks, personal items... and absolutely do not litter, must clean up before leaving to protect the natural landscape.

Because the road to Phun Valley is not convenient, visitors should also pay attention to carefully studying the schedule before coming here. It is best to book a tour service or contact a local guide for support.
In addition, because the abyss is quite deep and cold, visitors participating in underwater activities must wear life jackets and follow the instructions of local guides to ensure safety as well as have the most enjoyable experiences.
