Plan to upgrade more than 1,000 km of roads in Nghe An border communes

(Baonghean.vn) - By 2025, Nghe An plans to invest in upgrading and building more than 1,000 km of new roads in 27 border communes.

News from the Provincial People's Committee said: Implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue at the working session in Nghe An in February 2017, the Provincial People's Committee is completing a separate project for 27 border communes of Nghe An province associated with the New Rural Development Program.

Accordingly, transportation, irrigation, and other infrastructure in these 27 border communes will be strongly developed according to the integrated program. New investments and upgrading of rural infrastructure will be made to gradually meet the criteria for new rural construction.

Specifically, by 2025, Nghe An strives to invest in upgrading and constructing 1,189.24 km of new roads, of which 848.63 km will be upgraded and 374.03 km will be newly built. Of which, by 2020, the commune axis road strives to invest in newly building and upgrading 146.33 km; the village axis road will be newly built and upgraded 219.76 km; the alley and hamlet axis road will be newly built and upgraded 161.4 km; the main intra-field axis road will be newly built and upgraded 161.8 km.

The total budget for the above program is more than 1,000 billion VND, of which by 2020 it is expected to be 301.27 billion VND.

27 communes have borders adjacent to 3 provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in 6 districts of Nghe An (11 communes of Ky Son, 4 communes of Tuong Duong, 2 communes of Con Cuong, 4 communes of Que Phong, 01 commune of Anh Son and 5 communes of Thanh Chuong).
