Informing reporters about the province's socio-economic situation in the first nine months of the year, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Truong said that the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first six months of 2022 is estimated to have increased by 8.44%, higher than the projected growth scenario of 7.7-8.3%, ranking second in the North Central region and 18th out of 63 provinces and centrally-administered cities. This is the highest growth rate in recent years. According to preliminary calculations, the province's GRDP growth rate for the first nine months is expected to reach approximately 9.0%.
Export turnover for the first nine months is estimated at US$1,949.8 million, an increase of 12.61% compared to the same period in 2021. Regarding investment attraction, as of September 15, 2022, the province had granted licenses to 80 new projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 18,342.7 billion. Notably, in 2022, Nghe An province ranked among the top 10 localities attracting the largest FDI in the country for the first time, with a total newly granted and adjusted capital of US$605.42 million.
This morning (September 22nd), the Ju Teng factory project, which manufactures electronic components, products, and automotive parts, belonging to the Ju Teng International Group (Taiwan), commenced construction in Hoang Mai I Industrial Park. This is a key investment attraction project for Nghe An province and will create momentum to attract many other projects to the province.

According to the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment, in order to achieve the socio-economic goals for 2022 as planned, with an annual growth target of 8.5% - 9.5%, the growth scenario for the fourth quarter needs to reach 8.9% - 9.7%. This is a fairly high and challenging growth target, especially in the context of the overall difficult situation. Therefore, it requires the concerted efforts of the entire political system, all levels and sectors; and the joint efforts and solidarity of businesses and the people.
At the conference, speakers were also informed about the following issues: the prevention and control of Covid-19, dengue fever, and other emerging diseases, and solutions for disease prevention in the coming period; the recent situation in China and Vietnam-China relations, forecasts for the situation in China, and the direction of Vietnam-China relations in the coming period.
Regarding future propaganda orientations, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department proposes focusing on publicizing the socio-economic achievements of the first nine months of the year; solutions for preventing and controlling epidemics; commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS); the 20th anniversary of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC); and the 10th anniversary of the Vietnamese Law of the Sea.
At the same time, focus on disseminating the Party and State's guidelines, viewpoints, and policies on sustainable marine economic development; Vietnam's determination in preventing and combating illegal fishing activities; and publicizing some holidays and anniversaries such as: the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022; the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2022; the 100th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Vo Van Kiet…
