Evacuate 50 households from areas at risk of flash floods

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of September 15, more than 60 police and army soldiers of Tuong Duong district helped households in Yen Tinh commune move people and property out of areas at risk of flash floods and landslides.

The three villages that had to be evacuated were Pa Ty, Huoi Pai and Cap Chang. These are three villages that often suffer heavy damage during storms.

Mr. Vi Van Khien - Chairman of Yen Tinh Commune People's Committee said: "The rain started to fall heavily at around 4 p.m., but up to now there has been no damage to property or human life."

More than 60 police officers and soldiers, the district Military Command, and Yen Tinh commune officials helped people move people and property to temporary shelter in elementary schools, community cultural houses, and in taller, safer houses.

Currently, Yen Tinh commune has also assigned forces to be on duty 24/7 at key points to promptly respond when bad situations occur.
