The robot chef can cut 340 slices of noodles in one minute. The noodles are very uniform in size and thickness. The video recording the image of the robot in the canteen of South China Agricultural University began appearing on social networks on April 25, according to Daily Mail.

The robot is designed with many human-like features. It also wears a mask, hat and typical chef attire.

In the video, the robot cuts thin slices of dough into a pot of boiling broth. It is a traditional noodle dish from Shanxi province, northern China. Usually, the chef will stand in front of the pot of broth, holding the dough in one hand, and a knife in the other, and slice each strand of dough into the pot. Once cooked, they will become delicious noodles.

Students were excited to see the new “chef” in the cafeteria. They used their phones to film the robot and posted it on social media.

Many people stood in line to taste the noodles cut by the robot, to see if it tasted better than human-made noodles. It is still unclear who designed the robot and whether it was the product of students.

In recent years, many restaurants in China have also begun using robots in their business. In 2014, a cafe in the port city of Ningbo, Zhejiang province (China) used robots instead of waiters to take orders and talk to customers in Mandarin.

In November 2016, a Pizza Hut in Shanghai also launched a robot named Casper. It is responsible for escorting customers to their tables and bringing them drinks.
