(Baonghean.vn) - Through Giàng A Páo, Sồng A Chía negotiated prices and found a source of drugs to deliver to customers. Chía hid the drugs in his car, and while taking his wife to the doctor, he brought the drugs into Nghe An to deliver them.

On the morning of March 14th, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case of "Illegal trafficking of narcotics." The defendants prosecuted in this case are Giang A Pao (born in 1995) and Song A Chia (born in 1987), both residing in Van Ho district, Son La province.

The public questioning at the trial revealed that Giàng A Páo coincidentally met a woman from Tân Kỳ (Nghệ An province) at the trial of his brother (Páo's brother was sentenced to 15 years in prison for counterfeiting money). The two exchanged phone numbers.

On October 1, 2016, a woman called Pao to inquire about purchasing 1.5 blocks of heroin at a price of 190 million VND per block. Pao relayed this information to Song A Chia. On October 4, 2016, Chia called a Laotian individual to place an order and successfully purchased 1.5 blocks of heroin for 210 million VND, owing this person 110 million VND.

After receiving the goods, Pao called the woman to inform her and they arranged to meet in Tan Ky district, Nghe An province. Chia hid the heroin in his car, invited his wife to go to Nghe An for a medical check-up, and also to visit Pao's brother (who was serving a sentence at Prison No. 3, located in Tan Ky district).

On the evening of October 5, 2016, Pao, Chia, and Chia's wife were present in Tan Ky, delivering drugs to the woman and were scheduled to receive the money the next morning.

On the morning of October 6, 2016, Chia and Pao drove to pick up the woman and take her to the money exchange location, but they were stopped by the police for inspection. Following Chia's instructions, Pao threw the plastic bag containing the drugs onto the road, but it was discovered and he was arrested. The woman took advantage of the chaos to escape.

Authorities determined that Pao and Chia were involved in the buying and selling of over 586 grams of heroin.

At the trial, the defendants sincerely confessed to their crimes. After a comprehensive review of the case, taking into account aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel of judges sentenced Giàng A Páo to 20 years in prison and Sồng A Chía to 19 years in prison for the crime of "illegally trading in narcotics".
