The announcement from the German Embassy in Hanoi this afternoon was made after information spread on social media that Germany stopped issuing visas to Vietnamese business delegations, government delegations and students.
"German diplomatic missions in Vietnam confirm that this information is completely untrue," the statement stated.
The German Embassy explained that due to the high demand for appointment registration, waiting times for visa applications can last for weeks. It recommends that those who need to apply for a visa should plan early and make an appointment through the German Embassy or the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Information regarding visa procedures at German diplomatic missions in Vietnam can be accessed at www.vietnam.diplo.de.
