According to the Rheinische Post, the BKS has transferred to the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center the names, dates of birth, passport numbers and other personal data of 159 German citizens and 140 foreigners.
BSK also said that these data do not include people under investigation for links to terrorist organizations.
BSK will periodically update the FBI's list of “potential attackers.”
In return, the FBI will also hand over its list of terrorist suspects to Germany.
On May 22, the BKA said the number of people ready to carry out terrorist attacks in Germany had nearly doubled compared to last year, to an estimated 497, compared to 270 last year. The number of people supporting terrorism at that time was estimated at 339.
In April, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency said there were up to 1,100 potential Islamist extremists. The agency said the security situation in Germany was “very serious” and it was not known when attacks would occur.
