Germany releases findings of investigation into Germanwings co-pilot.

On March 30, the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office issued a press release regarding the results of its investigation into documents related to German co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who is suspected of intentionally causing the A320 plane crash. The press release stated that years prior, Lubitz had been considered to have suicidal intentions.

According to documents and data obtained by German investigators relating to Lubitz, even before receiving his pilot's license, co-pilot Lubitz had shown suicidal tendencies for a long time and had undergone psychological treatment for this.

Additionally, investigators discovered several more medical records certifying Lubitz's sick leave. However, investigators stated that although the pilot had received further treatment at various medical facilities, there was no documentation indicating that Lubitz had suicidal intentions or was agitated by strangers.

Speaking to reporters in Düsseldorf, Prosecutor Cristop Kumpa said: “We found evidence in the form of a doctor's certificate stating that the co-pilot was unfit to work and unfit to fly. But this documentation does not indicate that he intended to commit suicide or was provoked into acting against others. We also found no documents explaining Lubitz's motives and no indication that he had any physical problems. That is what we have and can say at this time.”
