Casting the Great Bell and announcing the decision to restore Lam Son Pagoda.
(Baonghean) - On the morning of January 23, Quynh Yen commune, Quynh Luu district, held a ceremony to cast a large bronze bell and announced the decision to restore Lam Son Pagoda.
The village temple of Thuong Yen was formerly known as Lam Son Temple. With the aspiration to develop their homeland into a more prosperous and spiritually vibrant place, and to continue the cultural and religious heritage, the descendants of Thuong Yen village and the people of the surrounding area have submitted a request to restore the value of Lam Son Temple.
Based on that, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 4446/QD-UBND-NC dated November 8, 2012, approving the restoration of Lam Son Pagoda in Quynh Yen commune, Quynh Luu district. On this occasion, Lam Son Pagoda organized the casting of a large bronze bell weighing 1.5 tons, with a height of 2.2m and a mouth width of 1.2m, worth nearly 1 billion VND, donated by businesses and philanthropists.
