Casting the Great Bell and announcing the decision to restore Lam Son Pagoda

(Baonghean) - On the morning of January 23, Quynh Yen commune, Quynh Luu district held the Great Bell Casting Ceremony and announced the decision to restore Lam Son pagoda.

The old name of Thuong Yen village pagoda was Lam Son pagoda. With the wish to develop the homeland to become increasingly rich in material and spiritual beauty, continuing the cultural works of spiritual and religious significance, the descendants of Thuong Yen village and the people in the area have prepared a dossier requesting permission to restore the value of Lam Son pagoda.

On that basis, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 4446/QD-UBND-NC dated November 8, 2012 approving the restoration of Lam Son Pagoda, Quynh Yen Commune, Quynh Luu District. On this occasion, Lam Son Pagoda organized the casting of a Great Bell weighing 1.5 tons, 2.2m high, 1.2m wide at the mouth, worth nearly 1 billion VND, donated by businesses and benefactors.
