Germany is looking for ammunition sources around the world.
(Baonghean.vn) - Der Spiegel reported that Western intelligence agencies predict that Ukraine's ammunition stockpile will run out "no later than June", possibly even sooner.

TASS news agency quoted Der Spiegel (Germany) as saying that Major General Christian Freuding - head of the German Defense Ministry's Ukraine support coordination group - revealed that the country is looking for ammunition sources for the Ukrainian Armed Forces around the world.
According to Major General Christian Freuding, not only Germany, Western countries are "trying to buy ammunition everywhere"; at the same time, complaining that artillery and anti-aircraft shells "are in serious shortage on the shelves".
Der Spiegel notes that German Defense Ministry employees are constantly looking for ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Western intelligence agencies, Ukraine’s weapons reserves will run out “no later than June 2024” and possibly sooner.
The European Union (EU) has pledged nearly 85 billion euros in military, economic and humanitarian aid to Ukraine since February 2022. The military assistance includes ammunition, air defense systems, tanks and other weapons and equipment. EU member states have provided tens of billions of euros in additional aid to Ukraine.
Germany is the biggest EU aid donor to Ukraine. Berlin has so far provided Kiev with 22 billion euros in aid, including 17.7 billion euros in military aid, according to figures compiled by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Denmark has provided Ukraine with 8.4 billion euros worth of weapons and ammunition.
However, in an interview with El Pais (Spain), EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that "that aid is not enough", and "they need to be supported more and faster".
El Pais also pointed out that, according to Western intelligence reports, “Russia is well prepared and Ukraine is gradually losing its advantage on the battlefield.”
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya affirmed that Russia was one of the losing sides and suffered the most damage in the conflict in Ukraine. Diplomat Nebenzya noted that European countries tried to "inject poison" into Russia, but as a result, "they were completely poisoned."
