(Baonghean) - “One evening in early 2007, while I was at home, a friend asked me to take him to the coastal town. Thinking that he needed help, I agreed.

After that "fateful" night, I was arrested and sentenced to 24 months in prison for "robbery" - Mr. NT D. (38 years old), residing in Nghi Truong (Nghi Loc) started the story with us when recalling his past mistakes. When standing in front of the court, hearing the jury sentence him to 24 months in prison, his legs trembled and he could no longer stand, his ears were ringing, darkness covered his eyes, it seemed like everything had ended.

Then, after a series of days behind bars, with the encouragement of the prison officers and the love and care of his wife and children, he regained his spirit, realized his mistakes and promised himself to try to reform well to soon reunite with his wife and two young children. “During my days in prison, I had a lot of time to reflect on myself and my actions. The most painful thing was when I remembered the scene of my two school-age children not having the care and guidance of their father, my heart ached and I was full of regret. Therefore, I always followed all the rules, strived to reform well, and worked hard in the assigned work. After 2 years of detention, on August 30, 2010, I was released from prison and returned to my family,” D. confided.

On the day of his return, with the care and encouragement of his family, relatives, social organizations and local authorities, D. gradually overcame his inferiority complex and, together with his wife, determined to start over by working honestly. At that time, in the commune and surrounding areas, there were very few people involved in the wedding theater rental service.

Realizing that this was an opportunity to create jobs and earn more income, he boldly borrowed capital from relatives to invest in purchasing equipment, machinery, dishes, cars as wedding cars, speaker systems for families who need to rent... After more than 4 years, the "brand" of the wedding hall for rent has become famous far and wide and brought him a good income. From there, he attracted many local workers to apply for jobs with an income of 3-5 million VND/worker. In addition, Mr. D and his family also combine agricultural production and livestock raising, bringing in an income of tens of millions of VND/year.

The stormy days have passed. Thanks to their hard work and perseverance, the couple now has a spacious house with full amenities, two well-behaved and studious children, who are an “extended arm” for the locality in crime prevention and control, maintaining security and order, and have been voted a Cultural Family for many years and received many certificates of merit from all levels.
