Practice shows that while the central press, with its strength in theoretical foundation, actively provides in-depth information on political research content; analyzes and affirms the correctness of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, the local press, with its regional and cultural characteristics, has its own methods and approaches in fighting and preventing hostile and destructive elements, especially on issues of ethnicity, religion, democracy and human rights.

During the discussion session, representatives of some localities and press agencies analyzed the role of the press in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; and shared some practical experiences on the following issues: Building a column and organizing propaganda to protect the Party's ideological foundation; organizing a series of articles "against peaceful evolution"; methods to write good articles that attract readers; information mechanisms, protecting people who refute hostile and erroneous viewpoints on cyberspace, etc.
