Using guns and drugs to force 5 young girls to 'sell themselves'

On June 19, Le Chan District Police (Hai Phong) announced that the unit had just prosecuted and detained Tran Thanh Cong (23 years old) and three accomplices to investigate the acts of tricking and forcing underage girls to work as karaoke bar attendants; illegally storing, buying, selling and using drugs; and illegally storing and using military guns.

According to the investigation agency, Cong led a group of young men who specialized in getting to know and flirting with young girls, inviting them out and then tricking them into taking them to Hai Phong. When they fell into the trap, the victims were forced to work at karaoke bars or else they would be beaten.

Checking the place where Cong kept the girls, the police rescued 5 victims aged from 13 to 21, all residing in Hanoi. Both female flight attendants said that due to various circumstances, Cong's group lured and controlled them, making them afraid to escape.

Searching Cong's house and the residence of the 5 girls, the police seized 4 swords, a colt gun, 4 bullets, a bag of synthetic drugs, 8 knives...

The authorities handed over the 5 victims to their relatives to return home./.
