Stop releasing water from the largest irrigation reservoir in Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Ngo Quoc Thang, Director of Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise, said: Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise has not yet proceeded with the spillway release from Vuc Mau Reservoir as planned.

On the afternoon of October 15th, due to heavy rain, the water level in Vuc Mau reservoir rose rapidly, so the unit issued notice No. 57 regarding the planned release of water from Vuc Mau reservoir at 7:00 AM this morning, October 16th, through spillway gates 1-3.

However, from around 24:00 on October 15th, the rain in the area completely stopped, and the water level in the reservoir reached 20.91 meters, not yet reaching the 21-meter mark. Based on the weather conditions and the water level in the reservoir, the Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise has not released water as planned.

According to Mr. Thang, the water level in the reservoir is still rising. The Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise will closely monitor the situation and promptly notify the authorities and local people in the upstream and downstream areas about the possibility of releasing water (when the water level exceeds 21 meters).

In the absence of tides, releasing water through 1-3 spillways at Vuc Mau reservoir will not cause flooding like what happened in 2013.
