Trillion-dollar gambling ring, so much money earned that I can't remember
The "boss" of a thousand billion gambling ring in Hanoi said he could not remember how much money he earned, and he did not know whether his "underlings" assigned to withdraw money from ATMs arbitrarily withdrew a few hundred million more for themselves.
In early October, when an online gambling ring with transactions of up to 1,500 billion VND was busted, public opinion was surprised by the huge revenue and lavish lifestyle of the subjects, especially the "boss" Nguyen Minh Thanh (born in 1989, residing in Dich Vong Hau ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi).

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Manh Cuong, Captain of the Criminal Police Team, Nam Tu Liem District Police, said that since mid-July 2021, the Team discovered the drug trafficking ring.online gamblingespecially large in the form of playing games to buy, sell points, and exchange rewards, so it was reported to establish a secret project 028M to fight and clarify.
The project mobilized 100% of officers and soldiers of the Criminal Police Team, Nam Tu Liem District Police to coordinate with other forces and invited outside experts with a total of 70 people participating in solving the case.
After more than 1 month of investigation, when there was enough basis and evidence of the subjects' criminal acts, the Task Force decided to "cast the net".
At 5:00 a.m. on August 18, 2021, the police conducted an administrative check on Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1999, from Yen Bai, currently living in Tay Ho, Hanoi) and Hoang Van Trong (born in 2004, from Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang, currently living in Tay Ho) who were riding a motorbike, carrying 800 million VND.
Thanh and Trong could not prove the origin of the money, so they were ticketed and taken to the police station.
The fact that the subjects withdrew money at midnight or early morning was also a sophisticated concealment trick of this network.
According to the investigation results, around the end of 2019, "boss" Thanh - a student who dropped out of school - noticed that many people liked to play card games online, so he came up with the idea of organizing gambling in the form of card games for rewards to make a profit.
Thanh went online to buy a game source code, then hired two people to build and edit the card game software, named it "SOCVIP", and then hired people to run ads on social networking platforms. In early 2020, the card game "SOCVIP" officially launched, later renamed "SUMVIP", Thanh opened a new card game named "VUACLUB".

Players who gamble on “sic bo, spin the jar, shake the dice, southern tien len, poker…” on these two card games must create an account and deposit money to buy virtual money to play. If they win, the player will contact the dealer listed in the game to receive the money.
To collect money, 160 level 1 and level 2 agents of 2 card games were established to be in charge of buying, selling and exchanging rewards for gamblers. Initial statistics show that the 2 card games have attracted more than 6 million accounts to participate in gambling, with an estimated transaction amount of about 1,500 billion VND.
The revenue is divided into 45% for "boss" Thanh, 15% for the remaining groups, and 10% for a marketing group (advertising).
The money players deposit via telecommunication cards; electronic wallet payments (Momo) will be withdrawn by Thanh in a sophisticated way. Accordingly, with the money deposited into telecommunication cards, Thanh assigned a subject to transfer it to phone SIM cards and then sell it to customers, collecting cash.
With the money deposited via e-wallet, Thanh converted it into withdrawal codes with a limit of 10 million VND each. Then, Thanh gave the subjects to withdraw at ATMs late at night and early in the morning.
Thanh mainly kept the money from the Momo e-wallet and used it to pay out winnings to gamblers. The investigation agency determined that Thanh had purchased more than 4,700 Momo e-wallet accounts to receive money and pay out prizes to gamblers.

I earned so much money I can't remember.
In this case, the police seized 13 luxury cars; more than 9.3 billion VND; 20,000 USD; 3 sets of bonds of a company worth about 5 billion VND... The amount of cash was so large that the authorities had to use many cardboard boxes and paper bags to contain it.
However, that was only a part of the seized assets, because at the same time, the police froze bank accounts with an amount of about 10 billion VND and seized the assets of 6 apartments of the subjects.
The evidence and exhibits in the case also have a "huge" number with 23 computers, 26 monitors of various types and 4 laptops; more than 20,000 phone sim cards; 12 GSM terminals...
During the police investigation, the group of people in this "huge" gambling ring threw backpacks of SIM cards and computer hard drives into the Day River near Thang Long Bridge to destroy evidence.
The Waterway Traffic Police had to organize divers to salvage the SIM card backpacks and computer hard drives to serve the investigation.
According to the testimony of the "boss" of the network, Nguyen Minh Thanh, the group initially earned less than 100 million VND/month, but from June to August 2021, revenue increased dramatically, up to nearly ten billion VND/month.
The amount of money collected was so much that the “boss” could not remember how much it was. The subjects in the network assigned to withdraw money from ATMs arbitrarily withdrew a few hundred million for their own personal pockets, but the “boss” did not know.
Thanks to his huge income, Thanh lives in an apartment worth tens of billions of dong in the Grandeur apartment building on Giang Vo street, owns many super luxury cars worth tens of billions of dong such as a Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 worth 12 billion dong, gave his girlfriend a Porsche worth nearly 7 billion dong...
Other members of the ring, despite their young age, already own luxury cars such as Mercedes, Porsche Panamera... and most of them live in high-end apartments in Vinhomes, Golden Palace, Sun Square, Premium...
The Investigation Police Agency of Nam Tu Liem District has decided to prosecute and temporarily detain 10 ringleaders for organizing gambling, including "boss" Nguyen Minh Thanh.
