Leicester had some good chances in the first half but they were all missed by Jamie Vardy and Robert Huth. Meanwhile, Bournemouth had 70% possession and opened the scoring through Marc Pugh in the 34th minute. The 29-year-old midfielder scored in his first Premier League start of the season, from a rebound inside the box.
Leicester tried to find a goal in the remaining minutes but failed. Goalkeeper Artur Boruc kept the three points for the home team with an excellent save to deny Leonardo Ulloa's six-yard shot late in the match.
The defeat at Bournemouth means Leicester have set a new Premier League record. They have only one point from their first eight away games of the season, the worst record for a defending champion. Leicester have lost eight of their 16 games, winning four and drawing four.
Leicester are stuck in 14th place, four points above the relegation zone and could be overtaken by the teams below after round 16. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have climbed to eighth place, the highest in the club's history.

Leicester's defeat came on the heels of a stunning 4-2 win over Man City. Bournemouth's dominance of the ball killed Leicester's excitement, despite Ranieri's side trying to maintain the momentum from their win three days earlier.
This was Ranieri's 200th Premier League game (146 with Chelsea, 54 with Leicester City). He is the first Italian to do so, but Ranieri had a less than happy celebration. Leicester have conceded 19 goals in eight away games this season, one more than they did in all 18 away games last term. At this stage last year they scored 34 goals compared to 21.
All the numbers show Leicester's unstoppable decline and Ranieri's men need a quick response before it's too late. The threat of having to fight for relegation is looming before the reigning champions.
