Railways schedule trains for Lunar New Year

According to Vietnam Railway Corporation, the train schedule for the North-South Lunar New Year 2017 will last for more than 1 month, from January 15 to February 18, 2017.

On this occasion, the railway industry regularly runs 5 pairs of trains SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, TN1/TN2 between Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and a pair of trains SE21/SE22 between Vinh - Saigon.

In addition to the above train pairs, the railway industry will run many other additional train pairs. Specifically, before Tet, train pair SE9/SE10 will run on the Hanoi - Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) route; after Tet, train pair SE9/SE10 will run on the Saigon - Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) route.

In addition, 7 other train pairs such as SE11/SE12, SE13/SE14... run daily between Hanoi - Saigon; train SE23/S24 runs daily between Thanh Hoa - Saigon.

Due to the high density of trains during Tet, the railway industry will temporarily suspend regular passenger trains between Hanoi - Vinh and Hanoi - Da Nang and stop repairing bridges, roads and tunnels except in cases that threaten train safety.

Vietnam Railways Corporation requires railway transport joint stock companies to develop ticket sales plans based on travel demand and agree on train ticket prices for Tet to notify train passengers.
