Duong Thuy Linh crowned Miss World Woman 2018

The final night of Mrs Worldwide 2018 saw the participation of 25 contestants from many countries. The representative of Vietnam - Miss Duong Thuy Linh - won the crown, and also won two additional awards: People's Choice and Special Queen Awards. The first runner-up of the contest belonged to the representative of South Africa, the second runner-up was awarded to the representative of Russia.

Duong Thuy Linh said she was very happy to win the highest position in the contest for married women. She herself devoted a lot of effort and enthusiasm to this beauty arena. "Before leaving, I said I wanted to make amends for my mistakes from the Miss Tourism International 2004 contest. At that time, I was not well prepared. Last night, when I heard Vietnam's name announced as the winner, I was very happy. I was even more proud to hold the national flag and wave to everyone as Miss," she said.

Duong Thuy Linh shares her feelings after being crowned

In the final night, Duong Thuy Linh and 24 contestants went through the general competitions including performing national costumes and evening gowns. In the national costume competition, the Vietnamese beauty chose a white ao dai by designer Kenny Thai. The outfit was inspired by the image of a swan, symbolizing the purity and elegance of women. Designer Kenny Thai used lace and mesh materials combined with hand-sewn techniques to create a 3D swan image on the chest of the dress. In addition, the outer coat was also decorated with feathers and sparkling stones to help Duong Thuy Linh look like a queen when walking on stage. In the evening gown competition, the Vietnamese representative was specially prepared by designer Audrey Nguyen for a metallic mermaid dress with elaborate stones to accentuate her sexy curves.

After two costume performances, Duong Thuy Linh entered the top 10 finalists and entered the behavioral round. She received the question "What makes a girl a woman?". Duong Thuy Linh confidently answered in English. She said: "A girl becomes a mature woman when she lives responsibly for herself and knows how to love and care for those around her. Personally, I realized I became a mature woman when I became a mother 7 years ago. That was when I felt what unconditional love was. And I know that not every woman is lucky enough to have children and understand the complete happiness of bringing a little angel into this world."

During the 4 days participating in Mrs Worldwide 2018 in Singapore and Malaysia, Duong Thuy Linh has always been one of the outstanding contestants in terms of appearance, foreign language ability as well as open and friendly personality. Her busy schedule left her with only 3 hours of sleep each day. In addition, traveling between Singapore and Malaysia also made her quite tired. However, when appearing in the final night on June 24, Duong Thuy Linh still maintained her radiant appearance. Her mother, husband, son and many friends flew to Singapore to support her mentally.

Before being crowned Mrs Worldwide 2018, Duong Thuy Linh won Miss Congeniality at Miss Universe Vietnam 2008, and bronze medal at Vietnam Supermodel 2004. She also represented Vietnam at the Miss Tourism International 2004 contest.
