(Baonghean.vn) - Provincial road 537B passing through the coastal communes of Quynh Luu district is seriously degraded, especially when it rains, the road is full of ponds and depressions, making it very dangerous to travel.

Provincial Road 537B passes through Quynh Minh, Quynh Nghia and Quynh Bang communes. According to local residents, the road is currently severely damaged. The asphalt surface is almost completely peeled off, with large ditches appearing in many places. Especially during the rainy season, large and small "bombs" containing water encroach on the roadside, causing people in the commune as well as neighboring localities to have a hard time finding their way when traveling here.

Ms. Ho Thi Chung, from Chi Thanh hamlet, who lives next to Provincial Road 537B, said: We live on both sides of the road and it is very difficult. We have to keep our doors closed all day because it is too dusty. On rainy days, cars and motorbikes splash dirty water into our houses. The road is muddy and slippery, so there have been many accidents.

Provincial Road 537B is an important traffic route, serving trade and promoting socio-economic development in Quynh Luu district. However, due to the large traffic volume, especially many trucks carrying wood and construction materials, many sections of the provincial road passing through communes such as Quynh Nghia and Quynh Minh are full of potholes, especially the section passing through Quynh Bang commune is seriously degraded.

Two or three years ago, due to many complaints from the people, the authorities were able to repair nearly 1 km, but after just a few rains, the road was back to normal.

Quynh Bang has 3 schools including kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. Every school year, the number of students and means of transportation is very large, so many children fall, affecting their health. Faced with this situation, during meetings with voters and the People's Councils at all levels and localities, there were many opinions hoping to be resolved.

In order to reduce traffic accidents, every year the commune and the people spend their own money to hire trucks to carry dirt and rocks to fill in potholes on the road. However, this is only a temporary solution.

Mr. Vu Van Duong - Vice Chairman of Quynh Bang Commune People's Committee said: "In recent years, this road has seriously degraded, greatly affecting traffic. I hope the government will pay attention to repairing and upgrading it so that people can travel conveniently.
