For his starring role in the sequel to Universal's "The Man with the Iron Fists," Dustin Nguyen could receive a salary equivalent to 6-7 billion VND.

Universal is expected to release the sequel, The Man with the Iron Fists, globally around the end of January 2015. The first film, a blend of Chinese martial arts and American action, was directed by singer, rapper, and actor Robert Fitzgerald Diggs (RZA) from a script by Eli Roth (famous for the horror film *Hostel*) with the guidance of director Quentin Tarantino (director of the blockbuster *Kill Bill*). The first film was released domestically in 2012.

"The Man with the Iron Fists" is a B-movie action film in Hollywood. The first installment was unsuccessful upon release, grossing just over $20 million – the same as its production budget. However, the studio decided to make a sequel, changing some of the cast.

This sequel is directed by Roel Reine. Roel Reine, who is relatively unknown and has only directed films released on video, has previously only directed sequels that "piggybacked" on films like Death Race or The Scorpion King. Therefore, The Man with the Iron Fists 2 is not a Hollywood "blockbuster," but it can still be considered a career opportunity for Dustin Nguyen.

Actor Dustin Nguyen was cast in one of the main roles – a man named Lee Kung. At the beginning of the second part, actor RZA returns as Blacksmith. Blacksmith is injured, falls into a stream, and drifts to a small village. Lee Kung's daughter discovers Blacksmith and takes him home to treat his wounds.

The encounter with Blacksmith threatens to reveal Lee Kung's past as a notorious assassin. Long after a life of bloodshed, Kung has retired to this village with his wife and daughter. Now, as his village is threatened by an army attempting to exploit its mineral resources, Blacksmith encourages Lee Kung to reveal his true identity so that the villagers can unite against the enemy.

Dustin Nguyen has extensive experience in professional filmmaking, having participated in Hollywood film projects.

When asked about his fee for a leading role in a Hollywood-produced film, Dustin Nguyen only revealed that for a film with a budget of $15-16 million like The Man with the Iron Fists, a lead actor like him could normally receive a fee of over $300,000 (more than 6 billion VND). "And that's just the average," he shared.

The action movie actor shared that, besides the well-deserved compensation for his efforts, what he appreciated most about participating in The Man with the Iron Fists was working with a very professional, enthusiastic, and dedicated team.

The second part of the film features many visually stunning fight scenes.

Director Roel Reine's film crew decided to choose a very beautiful location in Thailand, partly bordering the Thai-Myanmar border, for filming. Post-production was done in the United States.

From around March to April this year, Dustin Nguyen followed the film crew to shoot the scenes. Before that, he had to prepare physically for a role that required many martial arts action sequences. The film has 8-9 fight scenes, with many taking place on rivers and streams... Despite being very afraid of water, Dustin Nguyen still performed the role quite well thanks to the strong support of the behind-the-scenes crew. "There was always a rescue team and divers on standby to assist if the actors encountered any problems. As an action film, the director always prioritized the safety of the crew members," Dustin Nguyen recounted.

Busy with filming, director Dustin Nguyen, director of "Fire of Buddha," still made time to learn filmmaking techniques and skills from Hollywood. Initially, when he saw that the film was scheduled to be shot in about a month, Dustin Nguyen was quite surprised and thought director Roel Reine would have a hard time doing it. "I thought that even a comedy film in Vietnam takes 6-7 weeks to shoot. But when I got to the set, I saw how professional they work. Their meticulous approach and clear, detailed planning before going on set helped them save a lot of time and money," he said.

Due to the long filming period, Dustin Nguyen brought his wife and child along. His entire family was treated well by the film crew, enjoying very comfortable living conditions. Inspired by the Hollywood filmmaking atmosphere, after filming wrapped and returning to Vietnam, Dustin Nguyen immediately embarked on a project for the 2015 Lunar New Year comedy film titled "Winning the Lottery."
